Keep It Moving

May 2014 has been busy for Mike and I. We’ve DJed weddings throughout Richmond and the rest of our spring and summer is filling up fast.

In addition to DJing weddings, we also DJ private parties, corporate events and club nights of all kinds. This year Mike and I were excited to DJ and MC the NACY Awards on behalf of Richmond NACE. I had the pleasure of DJ the VCU Sculpture Departments annual Jose Puig night, which was an amazing event. Mike DJed the 11th annual Commonwealth Dinner for Equality Virginia. Mike also held down the DJ duties on Record Store Day at one of Richmond’s greatest record stores, Steady Sounds. On Wednesday Mike kicked off a new weekly Wednesday night at The Viceroy.

Needless to say we’re keeping things moving. If you need a DJ for your wedding or any other event, email us today.

Song of the Day: Spandex

DJs A-Track and Armand Van Helden the formidable duo known collectively as Duck Sauce make dance music without a hint of pretension (as it should be).  Barbra Streisand was a must play single at weddings several years ago. There new album Quack is full of great dance music. My favorite cut is Spandex.

Record Store Day 2014

It was another hugely successful national Record Store Day on Saturday. Of course DJs For Lovers had to participate in the festivities because we are vinyl lovers and big supporters of independent record stores! Here's a photo taken by DJ Mike from behind the turntables at Steady Sounds Records, in Richmond, VA, as the frenzy got underway.
