Our own DJ Mike got to take part in the annual Equality Virginia Commonwealth Dinner this past weekend, as part of the after dinner entertainment. The event had over 1,000 attendees, including Senator Tim Kaine and Virginia's Attorney General, Mark Herring. The night was a roaring success and ended with a dance party provided by DJs for Lovers and Scratch Entertainment. DJs for Lovers is proud to partner with Equality Virginia and we very excited about what the future holds for Marriage Equality in the Commonwealth and the nation.
The British producer Mark Ronson is back with two big dance floor fillers. The 1980s Inspired Funk/R&B hit "Uptown Funk" ft. Bruno Mars, has been blowing up the charts since it's release in November. "Feel Right" features the crafty wordplay of the one and only Mystikal. Pulling off an Impressive James Brown-style rap. This stomper is one of the funnest and funkiest new tracks we heard all year. Looking forward to hearing what else Ronson has on tap for us in 2015!

A good disc jockey can make or break a wedding reception, say Michael Murphy and Alex Verno, who run DJs for Lovers, a Richmond-based mobile disc jockey service. Experienced spinners who hail from the local club scene (Murphy hosts the crate-digging Mellow Madness show on WRIR), their hip take on the post-matrimonial soundtrack is edgy enough to include some obscure Iggy Pop and P-Funk, and flexible enough to have the “The Electric Slide” on standby.
