Just saw the news MCA of the Beastie Boys passed away. Sad news indeed, the Beasties were able to adapt and innovate their style to stay at the forefront of hip hop for over 20 years. RIP indeed.

No Richmond: DJ Night

No Richmond is an all vinyl DJ night that was started by Frank and Mike of DJs for Lovers. We play New Wave, Post Punk and No Wave dance music, once a month at Balliceaux. Guest DJs for tonight are Phil D and Lightning's Girl of WRIR and Deep Groove Records. Come out and join the party!

Seven Years of Mellow Madness!

The first week of March will be my 7 year anniversary of doing the Mellow Madness radio show on WRIR, 97.3FM. The show originally aired from 1-3am on Tuesdays. But after 6 months I moved to Sundays from 1-3pm, and I've been at that time slot ever since. I play a big mix of Soul, Funk, International, Rock and Hip Hop music, mostly on vinyl records. Thanks to WRIR Richmond Independent Radio for making it all possible. It's like a family working at that radio station.
